Welcome / Christian church Beréa Heerlen
Berea Heerlen Christian congregation is a dynamic multicultural community where all ages work together in a living relationship with Jesus Christ. We are not a church that believes in religion, but in Berea Heerlen relationship is central. Relationship with Jesus and each other. Berea Heerlen is a church that is characterized by freedom in praise and worship, practical preaching, praying for one another and fellowship. Berea Heerlen meets every Sunday morning together at 10.30 hours.
The history of this church

Christian Church Berea Heerlen was founded in May 1993, when Piet and Rita Vente supported by Berea Haarlem, a group of people from the Living Water Pentecostal church started in Hoensbroek holding meetings. The first team consisted of elder Piet Vente and two brothers from Berea Haarlem: Leen de Rijk and Jan Sjoerd Pasterkamp
Acts 17: 11 mentions the city of Berea, where Paul and Silas were going to the gospel of Jesus Christ to proclaim: "Since they received the word with all readiness of assumptions, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were." This same principle we apply in our church, so we called our church Berea.
As a church we don’t stand alone, but we are member of a larger whole, to receive guidance and correction, so we can grow together as a church to maturity and restoration of God's Church. In 1993, we have therefore joined the Berea Community. In 2005, the Berea Community stopped excisting due to circumstance. As a congregation we have subsequently joined the VPE (United Pentecostal and Evangelical Churches)

Venue

As a church we came together 11 years in a community centre, but then we felt it was time to seek a private location where we could continue to grow. In 2002 we bought a house and premises to Schaesbergerweg 134/136 in Heerlen, our current location. On Sunday, October 31, 2004 we had our first meeting in our new building. We had a baptism service that day so it was a special event. January 15, 2005 was the official opening, where also the Mayor Gresel of Heerlen attended.
